New Volunteer Initiative
The Lake County Community Volunteer Connections initiative was founded by Cathie Catasus in January 2026. The group was formed to connect local organizations looking for volunteers with those in the community who were looking for a place to volunteer. It started with a Facebook group “Lake County Community Volunteer Connections” where organizations could post volunteer opportunities. Join the group!
Volunteer Fair
Thanks to a partnership with the City of Eustis, we held the first ever Volunteer Fair on April 18, 2026 at the Community Center in Eustis. We had 18 local organizations in attendance: AdventHealth Waterman, City of Eustis, Cornerstone Hospice, Florida Trail Association, Guardian Ad Litem, Golden Triangle Kiwanis, Habitat for Humanity Lake-Sumter, Hand in Hand Recovery, Haven of Lake & Sumter Counties, Hoffmeyer Animal Rescue, Humane Society of Lake County Resale Shop, Lake County Animal Services, Lake County Adopt-a-Lake/Water Lab, LovExtension, Orphan’s Rock Thrift Store, PAWS Therapy Dogs, Project Noelle and Trout Lake Nature Center.
